A FACE LIFT
On a quite street in prime Manhattan Beach, the owners of this Marine Avenue residence brought us in to do a top to bottom overhaul of their existing home. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian architecture, our team embarked on this project with a focus on delivering timeless, functional designs that utilized natural light and embraced the classic Californian aesthetic of indoor/outdoor living.

We incorporated a contemporary exterior design that used sustainably sourced red cedar, ensuring the durability of the design despite the area’s costal conditions.
LET THE OUTDOORS, IN
Leveraging the kitchen's convenient access to the backyard, we seamlessly integrated the entire space by adding pocket doors, fully embracing indoor/outdoor living that California architecture is famous for.

MORE SPACE, MORE FUN
To fully utilize the indoor / outdoor design, we collaborated with Jones Landscape to integrate native plants and drought resistant landscape, effectively doubling the living space. The clean aesthetic of the house and ADU creates harmonious connection throughout the redesign and works as a perfect backdrop for the family’s extensive art and book collection.
